"A Town Without Arts Forgets Itself"
A recent play I was involved with includes the line above and I have been pondering how blessed we are to live in a place that hasn't forgotten itself. In Pilot Point, we have music, art and stand-up comedy at the Pilot Point Coffee House. We have theatre productions and education, music education and performance, and movies at Starbright Center for the Performing Arts. And I am proud to be part of the Pilot Point Community Arts Program, offering music and art classes to children and producing live theater.
In August, join us for "Always... Patsy Cline," performing at the Starbright Center for the Performing Arts on August 7–9.
I found the resources listed below—there are summer music offerings in Aubrey, an art co-op in Prosper. In Celina, there are Friday evening Art Crawls, music festivals on the Square, and Anderlin Arts, which offers theatre training and productions for all ages.
We will be bringing more arts opportunities in coming issues, but clearly, our towns are not in danger of forgetting themselves. So, go out and enjoy the creative arts all around you.
