Charles D. Ames

THROUGHOUT Charles D. Ames thirty-year career in the real estate industry, he has deservingly earned the status of being a visionary and a leader in construction, development and management of properties. His career started in residential properties and now he works in both residential and commercial development. Mr. Ames is a team player who prefers to give the limelight of his companies esteemed reputation to his entire organization. C. Joseph Gampper and Randy Holcombe are his right and left hand at Allegiance Development and he made it clear that the success of his company was due to teamwork and avoiding the over use of titles.

Low key and down to earth Mr. Ames grew up in North Texas and currently resides on his ranch in the 380 corridor. He is a happily married family man who maintains a close relationship with his four children, two stepchildren and three grandchildren. While discussing the holidays, Ames expressed excitement to have a house full and plans for friends and family to gather around the table. He shared that “our home is always open to let friends and family in.” Not only do his eyes light up when he discusses family but when he talks about spending time on the ranch the same spark is present. Charles Ames

During the time 380Guide spent with Charles Ames, it became clear that he seems to embrace everything in his life with full gusto. He puts the same amount of devotion into every venture he undertakes. It is understandable to see why the industry regards Ames as an innovator that pays exceptional attention to detail. Before Ames starts to develop a specific area, he establishes a vision of the land weaving in all the elements to assure becoming “good neighbors” to the existing community. Ames evaluates the community and listens to the people in order to develop a space that is harmonious with the idea and direction the community had anticipated. “With growth there is development,” said Ames and the 380 corridor is a perfect example of growth and development. As the Allegiance Development Team develops The Villages at Cross Roads and Rayzor Ranch, Ames has taken great care in preserving the spirit of Texas in the architectural facades of each project. The large renderings on the walls in his office show a modern touch to a traditional Texas ambiance with exposed metals and a natural atmosphere. With concern for the environment, Ames is utilizing energy efficient and green materials for construction. The finished projects exploit beautiful native landscaping by local landscaper Dwayne O’Dell. Ames has also insured the incorporation parks, water features, sculptures, outside dining and kiddy courts for families to enjoy and utilize.

"Under his leadership, the Allegiance Development has developed, built, managed and leased more than $1 billion in real estate in numerous states including Colorado, Florida, North Carolina and Texas. Prior to founding Allegiance Development, Mr. Ames held a variety of senior executive management positions including serving as Chief Financial Officer for a large general contractor, President of Construction Environments, Inc. and President of Woodcreek Construction. His career highlights include development of 10,000 luxury multi-family units; Chateau Plaza, a 385,000 square foot high rise project in downtown Dallas, Bridgepoint Joint Venture, a 140 acre development overlooking Lake Austin and most recently Rayzor Ranch a 410 acre master planned, mixed use development in Denton, TX." said Megan M.
